Brett, Sue, Cameron and Ellie Picker, Hillcreston Heights, Bigga have taken out the prestigious Australian Superfine Wool Growers Association (ASWGA) Grand Champion Fleece Trophy at the Association’s Annual Presentation Dinner held in Hamilton on Saturday 13th June. The winning fleece scored 93.2 out of a possible 100 points. This is the second time that Hillcreston Heights have won this accolade.

The event was ASWGA’s 12th annual presentation dinner, which moves to different region each year. The weekend saw growers and industry representatives from across Australia converge on the Hamilton region. Attendees visited 3 superfine wool growing properties. In the morning attendees visited ‘Kilmarnock’, Yulecart followed by lunch at the Yulecart hall. After lunch ‘Glenholme’, Tarrington and ‘Glenara’ Dunkeld. The principals at each property gave the onlookers a brief rundown of their operation, pointing out the various experiences of growing superfine wool in their area.

Each property put on a great show, including sheep, fleeces and other displays.
