ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Honouring outstanding fleeces
ASWGA’s annual national Fleece Competition celebrates industry excellence and represents traditional fine-crimping wools through four Bradford categories.
Fleeces are assessed for weight, quality, yield, trueness, uniformity, evenness and overall excellence.

Regional winners are recognised from Ararat–Barunah, Goulburn–Yass, Hamilton, Mudgee, New England, Tasmania and Western Australia.

Grand Champion Fleece 2026
2025-26 GRAND CHAMPION
Brett, Susan, Cameron & Ellie Picker
Bigga, New South Wales
The family’s winning fleece scored 93.2 out of 100 and was presented with the Australian Council of Wool Exporters and Processors Grand Champion Fleece Trophy at the annual presentation dinner in Hamilton.
The Picker family also won the 90s count class and the Goulburn–Yass regional award.
