The event was ASWGA’s 11th annual presentation dinner, which moves to different regions each year. The weekend saw growers and industry representatives from across Australia converge on the Goulburn-Yass region. Attendees visited 3 superfine wool growing properties. In the morning ‘Merryville Merino Stud’ Boorowa, then after lunch ‘Ainsbury’, Rye Park and ‘Brookleigh’ Rye Park. The principals at each property gave the onlookers a brief rundown of their operation, pointing out the various experiences of growing superfine wool in their area. Each property had sheep and fleeces on display.
The day’s events were capped off with the annual ASWGA dinner at the Mercure, Goulburn. As in past years the weekend allowed those present the opportunity to catch up with old and new friends, colleagues and industry leaders, and discuss all things wool. A great night was had by all.
